ERIS BAKER IS MAKING A NAME FOR HERSELF ON THE NBC HIT “THIS IS US”

She may only be just 12-years-old, but Eris Baker is definitely making a name for herself on the NBC hit television show, This is Us as Tess Pearson.

Baker is no stranger to the small screen as she has been among the faces of #younghollywood since she was seven-years-old. “I knew I wanted to be an actor because I loved to reenact characters from Disney shows and Marvel,” Baker told ESSENCE Magazine in an exclusive interview. “My parents always supported me through my journey, so when I told them I wanted to be an actor they were like, ‘Yeah, you’re ready.’”

Baker’s first job was a target commercial and now she is an integral member of the Pearson family. Even though Tess is a fan favorite, Baker at one-point thought that the role was not going to be hers. “For my callback there were like a million people there and when I was in there I messed up on one of my lines and I thought I ruined my whole audition. I was tearing up because they made me do it again and again,” she recalls. “At the end of the day I got the part and I was so surprised.”
